Swann: I'm here because there seems to be some very serious problems.
Betruger: Oh really? Do I need to remind you of the groundbreaking work we're doing here?
Swann: No. But I've been authorized by the board to look at everything.
Betruger:The board authorized you? Hmmm. The board doesn't know the first thing about science. All they want is something to make them more money, some product... Don't worry, they'll get their product.
Swann: After how many accidents? Tell me, Dr. Betruger, why are so many workers spooked, complaining, requesting transfers off Mars?
Betruger: They simply can't handle life here. They're exhausted and overworked. If I had a larger, more competent staff, and bigger budget, even these few accidents could have been avoided.
Swann: I'm afraid you'll get nothing more until my report is filed with the board. I will need full access, Dr. Betruger, Delta included. I won't have any difficulties doing that, will I?
Betruger: Only if you get lost, Swann. Just stay out of my way. Amazing things will happen here soon. You just wait.
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
I will in this essay expound upon the truth of the hereafter. It should be pointed out that emotional considerations of heaven and hell are absolute nonsense; mutterings of theologians who play scare tactics on the lives of naive fools; and such idiocies have nothing to do with the Law of Θελημα.
Moral considerations concerning the hereafter are brought up by Jews, Christians and other religions who try to logically deduce their behavior on this particular plane. If no hereafter, they state why not run amok among their fellow human beings and rob, murder and rape? The absolute stupidity of this logic doesn't seem to be apparent to them and they rattle on how they think the origin of morality is seated in the existence of the hereafter.
Setting aside all the dogmatic confusion that their logic evokes I state that the Law of Θελημα resolves their idiocies and turns these cows out to pasture leaving them to chew upon their twisted logic which goes nowhere.
Here is analogy that gives us an excellent theory on the hereafter. Let us state that a hunan being's desire to to mutate themselves into the type of being that can exist in a hereafter is in existence at the moment of death in majority of cases at the time of death. Like everything else that is learned, and even mutated into the generic genetic norm we might state "bad tries" don't survive, and they are tossed, but "good tries" survive, and then they evolve into better solutions.... After thousands of years, perhaps even millions of years we can safely state that it is much more probable that a byway has already been created. A human being will do everything he can to save his life, preserve his life, cling to his life; and the one time he has to reach out and act upon such a desire is the moment of death. Therefore we have evolved ourselves into a species that can exist in a hereafter as a consequence of reaching out for it; and finding that byway which would have been a natural manifestation of the preservation of life over millions of years. We now have a scientific theory that does not insult the scientist, and even gives the scientist data which to build upon to prove in the actual laboratory that the hereafter has a real possibility of existence in a reality that will eventually be discovered; and even mapped.
Taking this further we see in the occult world magicians are listing spirits that are supposed to exist in the hereafter; and actual magical ceremonies to bring them forth; whether they are the previously dead or spirits that exist on a plane of existence that is categorized by occult symbol. These books of spells, beliefs in the spirits in the hereafter, folklore and ancient so called superstitious belief predominate the literature, oral teaching and theory for centuries untold. Whether they come forth as a sophisticated dogmatic religion of long standing or a folklore that has been passed down orally they have one predominate factor in common. They always insist upon a belief in a hereafter or a reality that spirits exist which exist in another reality.
Breaking it down, we must state with clarity that consciousness must be able to exist without the physical body; and a reality does exist where our life form continues its evolution.
Think of the sheer number of generations involved in evolution. It doesn't matter that most mutations may not have a benefit (or even be a detriment) because it only takes one better individual (an Adept) to spawn a whole population of improved individuals. Evolution explores a "fitness landscape" to find more fit individuals; random mutation keeps the population's genetic diversity from growing stagnant.
Also remember that the mechanisms of evolution are also evolving; chromosomes are not just a string of data like a binary file on a computer. They are complex protein chains that fold, twist, and break in predictable ways. Plus, non-genetic material in the cell controls some aspects of genetics, particularly in cell specialization. Then, you have other sources of DNA besides chromosomes - mitochondrial DNA passed exclusively from the mother, for example. Combine all of these processes and you get a mechanism for evolution that is far more complex than can be represented in a simple analogy and that Charles Darwin did not have time in his lifetime to expound or discover.
In the occult world we call this 'better individual' an Adept; and one who has reached out into the astral, or hereafter or actually created magical Temples on the inner planes to take what evolution has given us in terms of the hereafter; and improved by manifested thought form into an efficient means of continuing the evolutionary process.
I have given this essay to scientists in an attempt to give a better theory for the hereafter; and those who are magicians who accept the Law of Θελημα can firstly note the reference of the hereafter in the Book of the Law - using the hints of this essay for a Great Work that will not be apparent to the profane.
