Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law
This entire essay is on the angry man in the marketplace. Yet I must elaborate very concisely to bring you to the horrible reality of who He is.
A few years ago I received Communication from a country in Europe that I previously had paid no attention to. The gestalt of the Communication informed me positively astounded that I was using the method of science to attempt to find the secrets of magick. Moreover, it should be emphasized that these magicians being outside our Holy Order ordinarily do not use the method of science to rebuild the ruins of magick so brutally raped from the generations of magick by the inquisition but try to find the secrets of magick from old manuscripts and what was passed on to them generation after generation.
Well, I can only shrug my shoulders and point out to them that their exists only a handful of books of magick left over from those times where the rack, the wheel, and other torture devices was the horrible destiny of the persistent cruelty of the Church for the magicians who had to hide in the forest and the mountains to avoid death and torture. Of course, the name pagan means country and those who were polytheistic and magical had to become hermit to preserve what ancient secrets and traditions they had. This resulted in a situation that the most advanced adepts thought that the country was the only place to Attain, with all the stories of the man on the mountain and so forth.
Of course, the Book of the Law on hermits gives us adjustment to all this, and knowing that the magician must mingle in order to learn social skills to improve or return us to the realities of human relationship have adjusted the situation in Liber AL, Chapter II, verse 24. It might in addition come as a surprise and a shock to those who are called Thelemites that the hermits mentioned in these lines might not be what we generally consider Thelemites, and yet have so many similarities in regards to the Collective Us that we consider them friends without including them in the overall scheme of our curriculum. This insight is clearly one of the most shocking revelations for the novice who might be unconsciously nailed to the plane of disks so subtly that he or she cannot see that the hermits might not be at first glance be Thelemites as we know them, or using symbolism as we ordinarily find familiarity with. Whatever plane of geometry you perceive it the angle will still see the circle squared, and yet parallel symbolism does exist and especially interpretations that continue to surprise and shock as we see and gain control of the situation from more than one point of view.
The lightning flash of Liber 777, as it were, manifests as shock to the system as we find to our dismay that somehow we have found a culture, list of Gods, system of attainment or series of schools of thought that we either thought dead, or simply recently translated from that language that was previously unknown to us. Yet once the order is restored by seeing the parallels in that previously unknown system we realize that these, among others, are within reasonable probabilities those very hermits that have finally returned from the forests and mountains to assist us to either awaken the ruins of magick by the study of ancient manuscripts or by the method of science as would be appropriate to restoring the situation to the previous glory of magick before the inquisition murdered our kind to a point where all we could do pragmatically is to give the basic principles of the theory and practice of magick working with hidden wands with dormant magick and secret swords with edges that needed sharpened to cut into the fabric of our new perception of phenomenal existence.
Even further so, it would be a black brother attitude to state that We, of the Western Esoteric System are the only keepers of the wands and those secrets that have either been rescued from the ruins of magick or rediscovered from the method of science. Yet I point out that we cannot know when such discoveries are made whether they are really new discoveries or rediscovered. After all, the extent of damage to magicians and ancient religion is so horrible that even the most courageous soul is tempted to shudder in bewilderment to the pain and suffering that was endured. If you doubt the extent of the cruelty, study the history of the inquisition and visit the museum in Salem Massachusetts and see for yourself an example of the torture devices that were used by the Church.
As for my alleged new discoveries regarding mystical geometry and mystical imperialism from the Book of the Law I cannot really state these achievements which seem superhuman to the mere Adept who has not attained Master are simply rediscoveries that existed before magick was put in ruins by the inquisition. Rather, I must publicly and openly admit that I was extremely naive on the extent of the peak of civilization before the inquisition. Divine Oracle, Divine Song, Supernal Thought as perceived as a Class A document by Our system of attainment existed on a much higher level that I was so ignorant to presume when I existed only with the lower Grades of the Order. Yet, I am humbled by the entire scenario where previously I only perceived into the darkness with mere aspiration before those higher initiations startled my School of Thought to the shocking reality of the events of history.
It is otherwise important to note that it is the second line of the Third Chapter announces two priorities for Us to deal with, and the first is where the Warrior God arises and gives right from the start objections, proclamation, notes of history and finally the solution to the problem for adjustment. Yet noting this, we can immediately know our priorities and see what the preliminaries are to fulfill the commands on our end. To wit, "Spelling is defunct" and also realize that "Spelling" is upper case. Of course the lower case "spelling" still exists and yet it otherwise important to pay attention that the Higher Magick must be restored. Clearly, the first priority for those who are of Us who adhere with the method of science is to discover or rediscover the Higher Magick. Yet we have priority number two where it states in metaphor "all is not aught" going right back to my near fanatical insistence that unless you have direct experience of the Collective Us, you are not going to accomplish much more than a rudimentary gist of the problem when the method of science is carefully applied. In this sense, you could state that the "method of science" is the sword that is Held upward as the the Spell is raised. It is also important to note that the second line of the Third Chapter of the Book of the Law has to be that revenge and adjustment that has to be worked out that would of occurred from the past!!! Most certainly, once again, the shocking reality of the events of history I reiterate cannot be ignored. It should now be a little clearer that when these two priorities or commands are adjusted then we no longer have the problem of division in Our House and the word, Θελημα, not only energizes the manifestation of the House by the Higher Magick but the House can be extended or not extended as the tendency for the Mystical Imperialism would predominate the will of the centralization of those concerned — family or individual manifests Collective Us. (I have written about the Royal House elsewhere and most likely will elaborate in further essays.)
I wonder more often now how many times the Succession of the Aeons or an inquisition or an error with some ancient magical gesture has completely destroyed the Tower of Civilization with the lightning flash of karma and what motivations the Secret Chiefs have with regards to completely starting over again and again and again and again as civilization reaches sublime peaks only to start again on that thorny road where we are adjusted once again for the Next Step in Evolution or Initiation.
My immediate frustration on looking backwards is only appeased by my ongoing struggle to find those secrets of the universe that are going to be necessary for world initiation. This time, this time with the Book of the Law as Our guide we can reach that peak and use the Law of Θελημα to continue upward that mountain that we for all intents and purposes keep falling back and climbing, falling back and climbing as civilization transforms into something that is the best of all that was, and has a basis for Its pyramid that this time the Temples will not be destroyed but remain stable. All this has been the most horrifying and sublime revelation that has ever startled my being. This same revelation led the Master Therion to consider that the civilization that you see today will be gone tomorrow; and the same pattern will occur again. Of course, issuing the original volume one of the Equinoxes seemed to be the answer as a Rosetta stone when these revelations were finally realized. Yet, I know now that this may be futile whereas we haven't rediscovered everything we have lost as yet, nor has a sufficient amount of the magical secrets from the Book of the Law been revealed for us to issue anything more than a mere naive speculations of magick that are given in this volume one series. Even Magick in theory and practice by the Master Therion might be become too naive to be considered for Our curriculum as we apply the method of science in the next five hundred years or so. We must keep an open mind and not permit the black brother attitude of dogmatic self crucification take hold of the freedom of our True Will onward.
For the worshipers (as an example without revealing which country in Europe I am referring to.) of the Goddess None, and all their Gods might might a much more consistent interpretation not only of the 0 = 2 equation but might have all those same Gods mentioned in the Book of the Law without the Names we ordinarily use, and yet have taken directions that might be completely consistent with Our mutual goals not touched upon in our curriculum. Rather than criticize such a situation we must look closer at it and assimilate the situation offering them the friendship that is commanded in the Book of the Law to these hermits. Yet the above paragraph is merely preliminary to emphasize that we must keep an open mind and heart to the karma, the volition and manifestation that we were previously in the dark about.
Well, this has occurred before where a so called new discovery among us would occur and someone in the world would write and complain that we had revealed their ancient secrets - demanding to know who we are and how this could be. In my case it was revealing the preliminaries of mystical imperialism from the Book of the Law in several essays not knowing that hermits were about to magically appear before me using a magick that I naively thought only We possessed not knowing that the Others were manifesting the Collective Us from the perspective of their symbolism. After the initial surprise, much insight and work has gone into using this information to the advantage of the Aeon.
Yet let be duly appreciated that whether We name the Collective Us the Night of Pan as the Greek Initiates do, or the Night of Nuit as the Egyptian Initiates do, or the Mother of Mothers called the Goddess None manifesting duality as the omnipresence of Her Body where we are in touch with the Nuit which is the Night and the All manifested into the souls of the Priesthood We are still giving those self same principles to explain what the Master of the Temple in Binah is only with symbolism that gives those magical secrets for those who have attained to this Grade on this plane in our system and theirs. I specifically write this particular paragraph on more than one plane of existence to excite the scientific researcher and to blind the fool.
Only then when you reach this level can you perceive the situation with honest reality and see how Thomas Jefferson attained Tiphareth, or how Yeats attained Zelator or how another system of attainment could take on a parallel reality where friends are finally appreciated as fellow warriors on the path of that spiritual war that is commanded in the Third Chapter of the Book of the Law.
Ages ago, in a marketplace in a civilization now erased by the disturbance of the confusion of war and creed by inquisition a crowd of people were listening to a Monotheistic Priest preach the gospel of the oneness of God and the self awareness of the common good. All in the crowd were dazzled by the deep wisdom of his sublime hope that we are all like sheep and God is the Shepard that leads us to salvation. Yet a man in the back of the crowd had fists clenched in rage. His eyes were burning with anger with every word that was spoken. He was doing everything in his power to control himself. Who was this man? Why did he ride away into the forest and mountains on his black steed with such fury, frustration and apparent anger?
All aspirants of our Path now know who this person was. He was you, brother and sister.
