The dangers that have occurred with initiations are behind us. The initiate need not worry that our Path will lead to insanity. Let me explain clearly to the novice why this is so.
Let me attempt to explain how the possibilities of going forth with Initiation following the Book of the Law is more efficient than it was in the past.
Of course, these concepts were grasped by the ancient Egyptian Priests and Priestesses of Nuit, only to be introduced again by Aiwass in the Book of the Law with definite methods of proceeding so that infinity is grasped, and manifested initiation will occur on this planet, and perhaps others.
The infinite is feared deeply not only on the primal level, but on the surface of one's consciousness. Evolution consists of us going forth without fear to experience. For the low man this utterly impossible. This, on another plane, consists of the fear of falling, the fear to reach out to new experiences, the insecurity of the open desert, with all its abyss of stars yawning at the mere, mundane individual.
The infinite, and attempting to reach out toward it, before the Law of Θελημα, had the danger of some type of insanity on some plane. So few dared venture with this formula that the perceptions of self-sacrifice reached deadly levels. This meant stagnation and the necessity of a new formula.
Under ordinary circumstances, the impact of the infinite results in insanity. We have no parameters, and therefore no point of reference to assimilate ourselves in a manifested initiation. Nevertheless, the Book of the Law solves this problem of manifested initiation by introducing the concept of "Nuit" as something tangible for the seeker on the path to grasp on whatever plane they exist, for the concept is sanely perceived by any initiate on any level. A novice can easily permit infinity to be perceived as a Goddess that he or she is reaching out to as a formula to experience his starhood. Noted that the perception of the "abyss" is simply the symbolism of this "abomination of desolation" as a consequence of our fears of the infinite. Therefore, the Book of the Law has clearly prepared us for a greater initiation where the abyss can be dissolved in the omnipresence of her body.
Also, the perception of "Hadit" as experience manifested give the Initiate further insight for possible assimilation in a higher alignment to infinite forces, so-called, which for general purposes we can call "stellar radiation".
With the Book of the Law, and the superior instructions in Liber Nu and Liber Had, we who seriously practice this formula find that the "abomination of desolation", once the end of the road for our sanity is simply a stepping stone to a new consciousness where we are able, in fact, to perceive the consciousness of the continuity of existance and the omnipresence of Her Body.
This will mean that with the coming of the new Aeon, the Tree of Life must be adjusted to our new perceptions. We have a formula which is less dangerous for our eventual growth toward a Kether consciousness.
The Book of the Law gives us saner method of reaching higher levels of consciousness without the past dangers of insanity from the stress of our reaction toward the infinite.
To such people who have aligned themselves with the black brother current, it will now be obvious how the ego has intruded into the spiritual progress of there awakening toward the infinite.
Remember, however, that a puppet of the black brother is not a black brother. The black brother failed to assimilate the abomination of desolation or followed the improper formula while attempting to cross that abyss. They therefore represent a demonic current which weak fools will be chained to as a consequence of there fear and hatred.
